Happy New Year

Happy New Year! I hope Christmas was great for everyone! It was for me and now we are on to the new year. Christmas as a photographer can be so stressful, I love all my clients, but trying to get everyone what they need for gifts can be tricky. But that is why I love what I do, because those images of families or two year olds or newborns are so important. This image was the inside of my Christmas card this year. I wanted to share it, it is all my grand kids. I got so many comments on this card and I appreciate every one of them. When we got done with this project the studio was a complete mess!!! My son told me, "mom, you are one crazy lady" and I thought what? surely he knew that before now. Wishing everyone a wonderful new year from the "crazy lady"

Fun in the Fall

Thank you G family! I love photographing your family and watching your kids grow up. My how your life has changed since I photographed your wedding. It's amazing how fast that can happen. The kids are darling, what fun ages they are. I am grateful to be part of documenting your life and always happy to try ideas that families have. It was a beautiful afternoon with a beautiful family!

Christmas Cards

I'm so impressed with several of my clients who are already on top of ordering their Christmas Cards, and I am having great fun in designing something special for each one. I am posting this one for D and A and their cute little guy. I photographed their wedding a few years back and I always love photographing them. These images were taken at their extended family session. I love fall sessions, I guess now it will have to be winter sessions! Thanks to all the families who had fall sessions, I'll try to post more fall images later.

My Kind of Girl!

It has been my honor to photograph this darling girl many times, she lives in my area. I photographed her sisters wedding and have often done family images for the D family. She actually came in with her older brother, because he was having his picture done. But, W, loves to have her picture taken (my kind of girl!) and we did a few shots of her. Thank you W for allowing me to play. I really like this backgroud and so did her mom L, and by the way, we did get some great images of J, the older brother, but I know W will love this sneak peak at hers.

Gorgeous Garden

Fall Family Season is in full swing. I have been having great fun photographing wonderful families! These images were done before fall color season, The B family was here from out of town visiting their family. These images were taken as part of the large family (30 people) sitting. This location is another member of their families back yard. I can't imagine the hours that the B family, especially the mom N puts in to make this yard so spectacular, but I would really like to thank them for their gardening talent, especially because I have none, so I can appreciate it even more. Thank you, thank you!

I Love Babies

J and J are new parents. I'm sure they must be overwhelmed, but they don't show it. And little M did wonderfully well at his very first photo shoot! He is named after one of his grandfathers and so darling. I always allow alot of time for newborn sittings. You never know when they might need to eat, be changed or just comforted - I'm talking the baby, not the parents. Each little newborn is thier own little person, none of them look alike, thank goodness. Thank you J and J for trusting me with the gift of capturing M in images. I can't believe it's been that long since I photographed your wedding.

Brides are beautiful

Brides truly are beautiful! J is glowing, I hope her wedding day was great. Brides and thier moms put so much effort into the gown, hair, the whole look. Sometimes I can't belive how lucky I am to see it all come together and then to get to photograph them! J,good luck with your future and enjoy that vacation/honeymoon when the time comes.
It has been a crazy summer and I have not been good about posting - I will try to do better, but I know that life is just going to stay crazy for awhile. I think crazy is the new normal.

Wedding memories

These images were taken on J and J's wedding day. It was a beautiful day at the Washington D.C. Temple. This darling guy is his son (now their son) Little kids in tuxedos are always darling, but this little guy has the personality to match. I have been working on their wedding album and these images will be in it. I might be feeling a little nostalgic because this was the last wedding I photographed before I stopped photographing weddings. It was a great one to end on because these guys were so fun (one of them is a little wild and crazy - and they know which one I'm talking about.) I love these images for the interaction factor. This little guy is going to have a new sister, so he will have more people to laugh and love with and so will his mom and dad!

Ballerina

I was laying awake the other night at 3:00 a.m. I had been asleep, but woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. I was thinking about an image I wanted to try. This is not unusual (the 3a.m. is) I usually go into a sitting with a game plan, but I always stay alert to what a child does, (or doesn't do) In this case my game plan was not working and I went with the flow, I still got some great things, but I still have an image in my head. The image might stay in my head, or I might try again. The nice thing is that this darling girl, A, is family, so she might put up with this again. A has a totally fake smile she gives me, as do many 5 year olds, it can be a challenge to get a real smile, but often my favorite images are not smiles at all. Thank you darling A for going to the park with me and for letting your mom make your hair so beautiful.

One More Senior

I just couldn't help myself, One more darling senior girl. Thank you P for being so game to go with the flow. I know my clients must get tired of hearing me say "oh, one more thing, or one more time, or I know let's try this", but sometimes it's just fun and sometimes it turns out great.
Senior season is mostly over, but I am revving up for summer season and a new self project. I need to get current images of all my grand kids for an upcoming project, I'll be sure to post some of them, after all I have such cute grand kids!

Fantastic Senior Girl

Spring is such a great time of year. I love tulips and flowering trees. My husband asked me the other day if I missed photographing weddings, I really don't, but I do miss being around the S.L. temple on beautiful spring days, so on mother's day we took a little walk around the temple. Every year at this time they start removing the spring flowers, but there were enough to enjoy - and we did!

Another sign of spring is photographing seniors. What fun! I would like to thank J, this darling girl, with the seductive smile, for the great time we had creating these images. I also want to thank her sister B (we did her senior pictures a couple of years ago) and their great mom, C, whose name I always mispronounce and she doesn't correct me, for the help and the visit. It's always a good time with this family!

Spring Senior

I am so new to this blog thing. My biggest worry is that I will have nothing to say. I am not witty, cute or young, but I do love photography. It is my passion and I remind myself that growing older can be a great adventure if I remember that the important word is growing, and I am not talking about my middle. So here goes, I'm blogging now!
I would like to thank S, the darling senior girl in these images. I don't photograph alot of seniors, but everytime I do I am reminded how great it is! They don't look at me with trepidation (unlike some 2 year olds) They want to be there (unlike some engaged guys) and they are game for anything (unlike some people who will remain nameless). I have photographed this darling girl before as part of her family, but it was great to get to know her better. Good luck S, your future looks bright and congrats about graduation.
