Ballerina

I was laying awake the other night at 3:00 a.m. I had been asleep, but woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. I was thinking about an image I wanted to try. This is not unusual (the 3a.m. is) I usually go into a sitting with a game plan, but I always stay alert to what a child does, (or doesn't do) In this case my game plan was not working and I went with the flow, I still got some great things, but I still have an image in my head. The image might stay in my head, or I might try again. The nice thing is that this darling girl, A, is family, so she might put up with this again. A has a totally fake smile she gives me, as do many 5 year olds, it can be a challenge to get a real smile, but often my favorite images are not smiles at all. Thank you darling A for going to the park with me and for letting your mom make your hair so beautiful.

One More Senior

I just couldn't help myself, One more darling senior girl. Thank you P for being so game to go with the flow. I know my clients must get tired of hearing me say "oh, one more thing, or one more time, or I know let's try this", but sometimes it's just fun and sometimes it turns out great.
Senior season is mostly over, but I am revving up for summer season and a new self project. I need to get current images of all my grand kids for an upcoming project, I'll be sure to post some of them, after all I have such cute grand kids!

Fantastic Senior Girl

Spring is such a great time of year. I love tulips and flowering trees. My husband asked me the other day if I missed photographing weddings, I really don't, but I do miss being around the S.L. temple on beautiful spring days, so on mother's day we took a little walk around the temple. Every year at this time they start removing the spring flowers, but there were enough to enjoy - and we did!

Another sign of spring is photographing seniors. What fun! I would like to thank J, this darling girl, with the seductive smile, for the great time we had creating these images. I also want to thank her sister B (we did her senior pictures a couple of years ago) and their great mom, C, whose name I always mispronounce and she doesn't correct me, for the help and the visit. It's always a good time with this family!

Spring Senior

I am so new to this blog thing. My biggest worry is that I will have nothing to say. I am not witty, cute or young, but I do love photography. It is my passion and I remind myself that growing older can be a great adventure if I remember that the important word is growing, and I am not talking about my middle. So here goes, I'm blogging now!
I would like to thank S, the darling senior girl in these images. I don't photograph alot of seniors, but everytime I do I am reminded how great it is! They don't look at me with trepidation (unlike some 2 year olds) They want to be there (unlike some engaged guys) and they are game for anything (unlike some people who will remain nameless). I have photographed this darling girl before as part of her family, but it was great to get to know her better. Good luck S, your future looks bright and congrats about graduation.
